Trade (B2B) customers

Business customers must enter a valid, registered VAT number at checkout. This number is used to determine eligibility for VAT exemption under applicable intra-community or export rules.

Where a valid VAT number is provided and verified, VAT will not be charged at source. Where no valid VAT number is supplied, or where the number cannot be verified, the order will be processed as a standard retail sale and VAT will be applied.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the billing details provided correspond exactly to the registered company information associated with the VAT number. Incorrect or incomplete information may result in VAT being charged.

From 1 May 2026, Lyrebird Music will no longer issue invoices on request. All orders must be placed through the webshop, and invoices will be generated automatically and attached to the order confirmation email. This invoice constitutes the official record of the transaction.

As the Lyrebird Music catalogue continues to expand, a revised system for handling trade orders has been introduced to ensure that orders are processed efficiently and without delay while maintaining a high editorial and production standard.

The following arrangements apply from 1 May 2026:

• All orders must be placed through the Lyrebird Music website
• Orders of fewer than five copies receive a 15% trade discount; B2B customers should contact Lyrebird Music to obtain a discount code
• For customers within the EU, VAT is applied at the appropriate local rate where applicable
• Orders placed via the website are processed automatically, ensuring efficient handling and dispatch

NB: For orders with a total value of €400 or more, a one-use code will be provided on request, enabling a full trade discount of 33%.

Lyrebird Music publishes specialist titles which are not widely available elsewhere. Where titles are not held in stock, customers may obtain them directly. Retailers are therefore encouraged to maintain stock in order to meet demand and maximise sales.

Lyrebird Music reserves the right to validate VAT numbers and to refuse VAT exemption where the information provided is incomplete, inconsistent, or does not meet the requirements for zero-rated supply.
