This collection of chant-based organ music originated with Ave Maris Stella, which was awarded second prize in a competition for new organ compositions. The remaining works were written as companion pieces, drawing on my many years of improvisation and liturgical practice. They are essentially post-minimalist in character, blending minimalist techniques with elements of Gregorian chant and other musical styles to form a more eclectic and expressive language.
